The Houston Roller Derby will present a triple-header on Saturday night in Houston. Each of the league teams will play two 40-minute bouts that will count in the standings towards qualifying for the championship bout in August. The first bout will be a 20 minute half, followed by a five to ten minute break followed directly by the second 20-minute half. After the first bout is completed there will be a break of around 10-15 minutes while skaters in the second bout warm up, and then the second bout will be held. The third bout will be held in the same pattern as the first and second bout.

Because two bouts will count in the standings for each team, and each team has previously played two league games, the teams will have four bouts played in the standings after the final whistle of the final bout is completed. The teams with the top two records on the season will advance to championship bout in August.

The Psych Ward Sirens will come into this round robin bout with a big advantage, and undefeated 2-0 record for the season so far. Top jammers for the Sirens include Mistilla the Killa, DeMentia, and Jekyll and Heidi. Leading blockers for the Sirens are Carmen Geddit, Panty Raider, and Tex Offender. If the Sirens win one game they will be guaranteed a spot in the championship bout.

The Bayou City Bosses will come into this round robin event with 1-1 record. They will need to win at least one game, to have a chance to make the championship bout, and if they win two games they are guaranteed a spot and possibly the number one seed. Leading jammers for the Bosses are Death By Chocolate, Miss Lead and Holla Pain Yo. Top blockers for the defending champions include Nawty Dread Knocks, Goldie BloXX, and Becky Booty.

The Burlesque Brawlers will have a tough evening, but not an impossible time to qualify for the championship bout in August. They will need to win both of their bouts since they are 0-2 this season. Top jammers include Savage Rose, Private Been Jammin, and SpeedO. Featured blockers are likely to be Starr Doom, BushWackHer and Wreck Hell Welch.

All three of these bouts will take place at Kicks Indoor Soccer and Gym, 611 Shepherd Drive in Houston. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m. with the action starting at 7 o’clock. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. For more information please visit http://www.houstonrollerderby.com/.
